How do I change the Wi-Fi network my device uses to transmit events?

Traveling and need to connect to a new Wi-Fi network? Got a new router at home? Not a problem. Here's a quick video on how to change the Wi-Fi your device is using.

  1. Hold down the sync button (small button at bottom right) of your Talli device for 8-10 seconds until all the event buttons flash white twice and the sync button lights orange. The device is now in pairing mode.

  2. On your phone (NOT in the Talli Baby app, just on your phone) go to Settings then choose "Wi-Fi." You'll see "Talli" in the list of available networks. Tap on "Talli."

  3. This will open the Talli setup page. Tap the Wi-Fi network you want the device to start using to submit events to the app. Then enter the password for that network. You can use the checkbox below the password field to show the password so you can double check it.

LEAVE THE "APP KEY" FIELD BLANK. If you're just updating the Wi-Fi network the device is using to send events, you do NOT need to put anything in the App Key field. Your device is already paired to your app account.

  4. Tap "Save." The new Wi-Fi network name and password are saved to your device!

Can I save multiple Wi-Fi networks on the device so it uses whichever one is in range?

  • Not yet, but this is coming soon. We’re working on the ability for you to save more than one Wi-Fi network onto the device. So, if it’s at home, it uses your home network. If it’s at Grandma’s or the babysitter’s house, it uses that network. Etc. For now, you’ll need to use the steps above to manually change the Wi-Fi credentials any time you change networks.
