Having Trouble Connecting Your Talli Device?

🚨 Important Note for Xfinity Users

We’re currently seeing a rise in connection issues with Xfinity xFi Gateway routers. These routers recently enforced a feature called band steering, which automatically moves devices between 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands.

Unfortunately, Talli requires a 2.4GHz-only connection to pair. Band steering can block the device from ever seeing the right signal.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Contact Xfinity Support and ask how to create a dedicated 2.4GHz network for IoT devices.
  2. Log into your router settings and temporarily disable “Smart Connect” or band steering while pairing.
  3. Need help? Email us and we’ll walk you through it — or send you a Wi-Fi extender (free!).

🛠 Basic Setup Tips

Talli connects to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks only. If your home Wi-Fi combines both 2.4GHz and 5GHz into one name, the device may not connect properly.

Try this:

  • Separate your Wi-Fi names (like “TALLI_HOME” and “TALLI_HOME_5G”).
  • Make sure your phone is on the 2.4GHz network when pairing.
  • Manually enter your Wi-Fi name and password if needed — double check spelling and capitalization.

📶 What Do the Lights Mean?

If the top four buttons light up during setup, your device didn’t connect. This usually means it's stuck trying to connect to the wrong network band.

Try:

  • Restarting your router
  • Moving the Talli device closer to the router
  • Repeating the pairing process on a 2.4GHz network

If you see a different pattern (like the bottom left three corner buttons — bottle, sleep, nursing — lighting up), email us directly at support@talli.me. That error means something else.

📦 When the Extender Arrives

Setup is quick — we recommend using the "Via a Web Browser" method listed in the installation guide (it's usually easier than using the app). Once it’s set up, connect your Talli device to the new 2.4GHz network. That’s it!

  • We’ll email you a prepaid USPS return label
  • Print it, tape it to your box, and leave it in your mailbox
  • Once received, we’ll refund your original payment method
